Whose Communion
This performance is inspired by Christian worship liturgy. It's an introspection on liturgy and church teaching. I took off all street clothes, shoes, socks and jewelry, and put on the white vestment. Sprinkle the Holy water to the whole room and the audience is a part of the baptism ceremony and cleansing the space. Then, I boiled some holy water and brewed tea with it. I share the tea with all the audience. When I was passing the tea to them, I elevated the tea and said “This is xxx tea from xxx, take, and drink it.” And then I pour the tea that is leftover into another bowl. After repeating it for several times, pour all of the leftover tea into the bowl of Holy Water.
General Will
This is a collaborate performance with Ella Gallo. I give her a list of instruction of this performance, she performed it based on her own understanding of it. The performer use her mouth to pour same amount of water into each cup. Then, she choose an object in the video, and create a sequence of movement based on the movement of it. After that, pour all of the water back to the bowl. Repeat this three steps until she’s running out of water. At the end of the performance, she pour all of the water to a bigger bowl on the pedestal that represent the “general will” of the country. The video played at the background is a clip of Tian An Men Square Tragedy that happened in June 4th, 1989.
Rainbow in the Cloud
Rainbow in the Cloud is an interdisciplinary study of sound and choreography. Flowing melody line and choreography idea capture the flowing energy in the spiritual world. The mystery of creation is the eternal energy of the world. Always behold on things above.
Voices
I inspired by my studies of public realm. The approach that comes from recognizing different points of view tends to flatten out, so that people don't know what they are opposing and what they are advocating. I trained an AI model to let it writing several pieces of speech draft and let several different AI human voice animator to read the speech draft.
